"I always thought the anger was the problem. Working through the origin module showed me it was the last step in a chain that started much earlier."
Participant, individual track · South Africa
"Having the steps written down meant I could do it late at night, when I actually needed it, instead of waiting for an appointment."
Participant, Pro subscription · United States
"The pause plan is the part I use. Two lines I rehearsed enough times that they came out under pressure."
Participant, court-directed track · South Africa
"Writing the thought down and finding a cooler version of it sounds small. It is the thing that stopped the shouting in my house."
Participant, boundaries course · United Kingdom

No. RootCalm is a self-help tool designed by a clinical psychologist to complement professional therapy, not replace it. If you're in crisis or need clinical support, we always recommend working with a licensed professional. Our crisis resources page has helpline numbers available 24/7.

Most apps focus on surface-level coping: breathing exercises and count-to-ten techniques. RootCalm also explores your anger patterns and the unmet needs behind your triggers, using the ROOTS Method to support ongoing practice.

We never sell your data. Service providers help us run RootCalm, including hosting, payments, identity checks and optional analytics; details are on our Data Processing page. Advertising tracking and session recording are disabled. Optional analytics runs only after you accept, on selected general public pages, not your screenings, quizzes, worksheets, court pages or account. You can change your choice on our Privacy page and request export or deletion of your data. Built to POPIA and GDPR requirements.

The core assessment takes about 15 minutes. It includes 18 carefully designed questions about a recent anger experience. At the end, you'll receive your anger archetype, personalised insights, and actionable steps. All in one session.

Court Essentials, Diversion and longer court programs are available as separate one-time purchases, with time-verified sessions and a verifiable completion certificate after requirements are met. Reports and one year of Pro are included in Diversion and above, not Court Essentials. Acceptance of an online programme is at the discretion of the presiding officer or supervisor.

Yes. You can take free screenings for anger, anxiety, depression, stress, and sleep without creating an account. The full assessment and advanced features like AI coaching require a free account, with premium features available on Pro and Court plans.
